Legendary Toronto restaurant and concert venue, Sneaky Dee’s is preparing to give back to the community this fall with its’ second annual food drive. On Monday, October 28 (2pm-5pm only), Torontonians are invited to head to Dee’s with 2.5lbs of non-perishable food items and trade for a Sneaky Dee’s mainstay, the King’s Crown nacho platter. All donations will be given to the Toronto Food Bank.
Sneaky Dee's is keen to support a community that has been great to the establishment throughout the years, “It’s really the least we can do. Toronto has been great to us for over 25 years and Sneaky Dee’s is more than happy to give back. Last year we had a great response from the public, so doing it again this year is a no-brainer.” says George Diamantouros, one of the owners.
The King’s Crown is easily the most talked about dish at Sneaky Dee’s. It starts with crisp corn tortilla chips covered with salsa roja, and piled high with frijoles, ground beef, tomatoes, onions, mixed peppers, jalapeños, melted cheese then topped with guacamole and sour cream.Vegetarian and Vegan versions of the dish are also available. Dee’s is known for their giant nacho portions, and the King’s Crown can easily feed 3-4 hungry people.
