Singer/Songwriter, Trent Hancock, is finding success following the recent release of his debut EP GHOSTBIRD. Recorded in Los Angeles with Platinum Producers Mikal Blue and Andrew Williams (Colbie Callait / Five For Fighting), ‘GHOSTBIRD’ soars with its standout first single, “Falling Faster”.
The 6-song EP strings together thought-provoking lyrics with a strikingly smooth sound—one that according to Clear Channel Radio, has IMMENSE potential! Hancock was selected as their NEW! MUSIC MONDAY Artist On The Rise across their whole network on October 11th, including Adult Contemporary music stations like KBCO (Denver), The Sound (St Louis), Lite FM (New York City) and KOST (Los Angeles). All stations have proudly spotlighted Trent on their homepages to introduce him to listeners.
Hancock’s inspiration for the GHOSTBIRD EP came from relocating to the raw streets of Brooklyn from the west coast. The singer was so inspired by touring through New York City last year that he took the plunge and committed to a cross-country move. Hancock began immersing himself in the New York City open-mic showcase scene and was influenced to develop some new songs with a mainstream pop/rock sound.
Trent is currently crafting songs for his upcoming release in Los Angeles, Nashville and New York City. This full-length release will be available in April of 2011.

Introducing RUCKUS FO'TET!

Originally formed in January 2009 the Ruckus Fo’tet is a Jazz-fusion ensemble with influences stemming from modern Jazz, Hip-hop, Rock, Funk, and Latin genres. Performing chiefly original material, the group’s compositions draw influence from artists such as Herbie Hancock, J Dilla, Jimi Hendrix, James Brown and Antonio Carlos Jobim. Although
primarily an instrumental ensemble the Fo’tet occasionally collaborates with Montreal’s esteemed MC Kweku Sam Kofie, MC Milla Thyme, and vocalist Sarah MK. Muja Messiah - "Leech Lake"

"Leech Lake" is the new Minnesota anthem. Touching on all things relevant in 45-degrees north and the land of "Yeah, yeah, you betchya," Muja Messiah crafts a powerful song that hits close to home, while maintaining the wit and good-humor that comes with living under snow for half of the year.
The city comes alive with shout outs to ice fishing with white women, Bob Dylan, Jimmy Jam & Terry, big spoon with a cherry, Liquor Lyle's, Pizza Luce, fried walleye dinners, snow boarding, recording, Denny Hecker, Gophers, Vikings, Friedman's, Somalian Crips, Jesse Ventura, Keith Ellison, Verb X, Kalid El-Amin & Brock Lesner in this celebratory track.
But the real line the strikes at the heart of Minne-snow-ta is: “Shotgun a beer / shotgun a deer ... We all about beautiful women, I'm talking Robyn Robinson, Black Blondie, Lucy Michelle, my little girl Niani."
Muja Messiah's new mixtape, M-16s, is out now on Black Corners.

Muja Messiah has been hailed as Minneapolis next great hop-hop messiah, after a few false starts, real life battles and the loss of several family members and close friends, either through the jail system or violent deaths, that so often await many of his peers and friends. The Minneapolis-based MC known for his politically incorrect satire, combines serious comedy and street anthems to create a ‘thinking man’s’ hip-hop. A member of the notorious Raw Villa, a hard-knock hip-hop crew that released the Rebellion ep (Black Corners) in 2000, followed by Muja Messiah’s solo ep Wutz Goin’Down!!!? (Black Corners) 2001. A veteran figures on Minneapolis underground scene. Muja Messiah has crafted a hardcore debut dedicated to the streets of Minneapolis.
What you won’t here from Muja is politically correct lyrics, but politically charged themes like the powerful anti-Bush anthems “Patriot Act” feat. I-Self Divine and “Give It Up” feat. Black Thought (The Roots). Those themes run throughout, lyrically full of passion for the rap game and love of Minneapolis. Working with longtime producer Doc (Esthero/RES/Young Buck) on “Growing Pains” Muja shows a vulnerable side as he navigates his life story in three parts. In what originally started as Niggivity in 2006 later evolved, scrapping that title and recording a new batch of songs including the bangers “You Betcha”, ” Never be Broke Again”, “Pulling Stings” and “Pretty Gurl” with uber producer Che Vicious (Eminem/50 Cent/L.Hill) in Los Angles, Ca. in the spring of 2007. Armed with new bangers from Che Vicious and advice from Slug and I-Self Devine, Muja set out to make a classic and rep Minneapolis, through a narrative that weaves through daily struggles and triumphs of a b-boy/d-boy. A generation raised strictly on hip-hop and its cousin the street drug culture. As many youth of this generation face the anger at the status quo, through observations of social awareness, coming of age stories, tales of Minneapolis and its unique culture-clash. The journeys of a b-boy d-boy follows the tales through pop culture references, personal loss, hustling’ anthems.
Muja Messiah’s featured on Atmosphere’s Strictly Leakage on “Crewed Up”, URB Next 1000 with “Beautiful” feat. Samahra (Black Blondie) and reppin’ Minnesota on Vibe’s 51 Best Myspace Rappers. Muja Messiah released MPLS Massacre vol.1. with it’s more hardcore, aggressive tracks including the internet jumps “Amy Winehouse”, “Patriot Act” ft.I-Self Devine, MIA’s “Paper Planes” , O’Silly Me” ft. Slug, and “True Lies”. Walking the titerope between hardcore street anthems, humor laced party joints and political manifestos.

Slim Cessna's Auto Club

Engaging, riveting, sad and humorous; demanding the audience to participate both live and while listening to their albums; Slim Cessna's Auto Club has been branded with every musical description possible. This seems fitting, as SCAC describes their music as American (Is that not what America is and has been, a mixture of every one and thing resulting in something new?); and after a decade of working and living as SCAC, they have created their own genre. The instruments are drums, upright bass, pedal steel, banjos, piano, guitar, vocals and stories. They have recorded critically acclaimed albums (Village Voice, Denver Post, San Francisco Chronicle) on Jello Biafras Alternative Tentacles label. Spin Magazine and No Depression have described them as the best live band in America. The songs are each thoughtfully crafted with unique arrangements, executed by superb musicianship, then fully realized through original, insightful and intelligent lyrics. With two of the most charismatic front men around (West word) and four accomplished musicians, SCAC is the past, present and future of American music.
Jesus Let Me Down, Slim Cessna's Auto Club's raucous live double album, was originally issued in 2005 as a fan-club-type release available almost exclusively at the band's concerts. However, after quickly selling through an initial pressing, the group decided to release it as a proper album on Smooch rather than see it going for big bucks on eBay. Recorded by Absinthe Studios' Bob Ferbrache (16 Horsepower, Blood Axis) at Denver's lovely Gothic Theater in August 2004, Jesus Let Me Down captures the band's CD release show for their Alternative Tentacles studio album Bloudy Tenent. The songs are interspersed with Cessna and Munly's banter, on-stage antics and collected field recordings from camcorders and camera phones edited together by Ferbrache (Alternative Tentacles leader Jello Biafra is audible). This is Cessna returning to the vintage line-up after his Providence years. Jesus Let Me Down contains some radically different versions of songs from Bloudy Tenent as well as early arrangements of "Ladies in the Know" and "Jesus in My Body--My Body Has Let Me Down" (studio versions of which appear on 2008's Cipher). Re-mastered for optimum vinyl enjoyment by Ferbrache, this double-LP set features tracks spanning the first twelve years of the band's career including fan faves like "Lethal Injection" (previously available only on the out-of-print American Country Music Changed Her Life). Slim Cessna's Auto Club is the very definition of a "live band," more thrilling than the latest IMAX or 3D spectacle--or at least more sweat-soaked.

Catch them live at one of these three special Canadian dates :
November 5th –Toronto @ Mitzi’s Sister
November 6th-Ottawa @ The Babylon
November 8th –Montreal @ Le Divan Orange

Velvet Davenport Set To Hit East Coast, Release "Warmy Girls" this November

Minneapolis' own Velvet Davenport has a busy November ahead of them, with the upcoming Warmy Girls out via Moon Glyph and a string of wonderful East Coast dates on the horizon.

Tour Dates:
Nov. 10 - Annendale, NY - Bard College w/ Happy Jawbone Family Band
Nov. 11 - Poughkeepsie, NY - Vassar College w/ Swimsuit
Nov. 12 - Brooklyn, NY - Grasslands w/ Blank Dogs, Swimsuit, Dead Gaze
Nov. 13 - Brooklyn, NY - Shea Stadium w/ Big Troubles, Silent Diane, Sacred Harp
Nov. 14 - Ithaca, NY - Wildfire Lounge w/ Reading Rainbow, Tropical Punk

Warmy Girls is currently up for preorder on Moon Glyph's website and is available in a limited run of 500 vinyl copies.

Warmy Girls, Velvet Davenport’s third release with Moon Glyph, locates the band’s sonic architect and chief songwriter Parker Sprout displaying a rainbow of talents – talents only winked at on previous, briefer releases. Recorded in Sprout’s apartment studio last winter, the album became an effervescent brew of guitar-and-organ character sketches. Named after a feeling of affection and love, “Warmy Girls” is populated with men and women in a manner reminiscent of Ray Davies’ best Kink songs.
The music itself is also well-populated - featuring more players per song than any of Velvet Davenport’s previous outings. The result: a collection of tunes Sprout has been preparing his listeners for since he began releasing music. Layered on a four-tracker, the sounds gambol and flit, trip and shimmer beneath a mélange of bright-eyed vocal harmonies. Each of the twelve songs is an illustration of the group’s mushrooming confidence in their craft – a warmy patchwork of reclaimed riffs, wily lyrics and a tangle of ideas that surprise on first listen and reward with every return.

Australian journalists have flagged her as a pioneering and important presence in the future of rock and roll and upon hearing Abbe May’s new single, New York reviews have sited MAMMALIAN LOCOMOTION as ‘some kind of hallelujah inducing revelation. "A seduction song from a siren who is in possession of the voice of both god and the devil!"
After months in the studio with a new band, Abbe May has emerged with a whole lot of material sporting an even darker rock sound. The first single from her forthcoming album, MAMMALIAN LOCOMOTION begins to chart new musical territory for Abbe through n emotive exploration of human desire at its most fundamental level.
The MAMMALIAN LOCOMOTION film clip is a reflection of the contradictory elements of fierceness and subtle femininity found in the song. Shot in Brooklyn, New York with UK Director Zena Loxton, the clip features the ever under-stated and brooding Abbe and three snake-hipped roller dancing women from Brooklyn with moves that only women from roller-derby groups such as ‘Sisters In Motion’ could possess!
A prolific songwriter and inspired interpreter of old blues, Abbe has released 2 albums and 2 EPs to date. During this time, she has graced the stages of Australian festivals Southbound, Big Day Out and Homebake and opened for acts such as Tim Rogers, The Mess Hall, Billy Brag, Bob Log III and The Breeders to name a few. On top of this, for an unprecedented four years in a row Abbe has taken out Best Female Vocalist at the West Australian Music Industry awards.
Abbe is touring WA ahead of a national Australian tour in early 2011 before taking on the world. For dates, bio, pics and more information, click here.

THE MODEL PILOTS, featuring brothers Casey and Michael Sullivan are ramping up for the release of their lead single “Hollywood Romance,” set to impact radio and the digital market place on November 16th, 2010.
The duo, which has been writing and performing music since the late nineties will be releasing their full length LP titled- ACTION. The album was produced by Edward Peifer and Conrad Bauer and is being released by Xact Production on February 8, 2011.
The album is set to include the aforementioned single “Hollywood Romance,” along with other stand out tracks including “Fire Breathing,” a dance-club ready tune but still guitar-driven enough for fans of Scissor Sisters or MGMT, the Classic-Rock infused “Sidewinder” and “Wherever There Are Roads,” and finally, “Arise,” which showcases the duo’s more mellow reggae/jazz vibe.
Over the years the duo has experimented with adding elements of alternative rock, pop punk, and even some three part harmony driven ‘American Folk’ to their mix. Something that has stayed the same from their inception, is the lyrical content – it being “clean and clever,” according to Casey. “We test the boundaries of innuendo and the theatrics in our music directly can be attributed primarily to our clever lyrics.
In addition to THE MODEL PILOTS' soon to be released material, the brothers Sullivan are currently writing for several other musical acts via their work with Xact Production.

Social Distortion to release new studio album on Jan. 18

Rock ‘n’ roll icons Social Distortion have officially announced the release of their long awaited, highly anticipated new studio album, Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes, which is set for January 18. A follow-up to their acclaimed album Sex, Love and Rock ‘n’ Roll, Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes is the band’s seventh studio album and first release in over six years. Fans are invited to download the first single, “Machine Gun Blues,” via iTunes on November 9.
Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes builds on singer Mike Ness’ twin footings, one in the haunted American landscapes of Hank Williams and the other in the raw swagger of Exile-era Rolling Stones. While these twin pillars have always been behind Social Distortion’s anthemic songs, on Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes they come roaring to the fore, in one of the hardest rocking, most soulful, albums of Ness’ career.
After years of working with various producers in the studio, Mike Ness took on the duty for the first time with their new album. The band entered a Burbank studio in early 2010 where they recorded for the next several months in between spring and summer tour dates which included Lollapalooza and Outside Lands. In early October the band wrapped up recording before heading out for their fall US tour.
“It’s something I’ve always wanted to do,” Ness explains. “I love being on that side of the board. Even though I’ve co-produced all of our records, I always was there for everything. It just came to a point where I was like ‘I think I want to try this, I want to do this ourselves.’ By being at the helm this time allowed so much more focus for me to the fine details of every aspect of it, whether it was performances, or tones, or arrangements, backing vocals….everything.”
Self-produced and teamed with legendary punk rock label Epitaph Records, Social Distortion maintain the rebellious credibility that made them a household-name decades ago with the release of their latest album Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes.
Social Distortion gets straight to business on Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes with the grooving instrumental intro “Road Zombie,” setting the album’s tone before segueing into what’s possibly one of the band’s finest written songs to date, “California (Hustle and Flow),” which gives nod to the Stones with backing gospel singers, greasy solos and enough attitude to redline a ’40 Merc.
“California (Hustle and Flow) was an early idea last year,” says Ness. “It started out as pretty much a roots rocker, ended up morphing into kind of a tribute to the Stones. Also if you listen to the opening line it’s third person, and it’s talking about some kid with an attitude and dyed jet black hair and motorcycle boots and running around like he don’t care. It basically chronicles my career in music. Just how it started out, how rock n roll has been good to me…And I’d like to think I’ve been good to rock ‘n’ roll ya know.”
Fans will find familiarity in tracks like “Gimme the Sweet and Lowdown” and “Diamond In The Rough,” which combine the band’s inimitable vintage sound with their contemporary vision.
“(“Diamond In The Rough”) that one is pretty autobiographical….so many faults, yet so little time. What are you gonna do?… Better write a song.”
Without warning Social Distortion kicks the album into overdrive with their first single, “Machine Gun Blues,” a sneering modern day Bonnie & Clyde outlaw anthem which encompasses the album’s rebellious attitude. The band only takes a few moments on the album to slow things down and like Sex, Love and Rock ‘n’ Roll’s “Footprints on My Ceiling” the band momentarily dial it back for the gentile biker bar dance number “Bakersfield,” which flows gracefully into the modern rocker “Far Side of Nowhere.” Ness pays tribute to his idol Hank Williams with a dark rockin cover of “Alone and Forsaken,” which gives him a chance to slow things down again for what’s sure to be a fan favorite live song “Writing on the Wall.” Closing out the album, Social Distortion cranks it all the way to 11 with “Can’t Take It With You” and “Still Alive.”
Bruce Springsteen has “been a fan of Social Distortion for a long long time,” Guitar World has ranked Mike Ness as one of the coolest guitarists of all time and now with the release of Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes, Social Distortion has further cemented themselves as one of the great rock bands of all time.

Songs Needed - LeAnn Rimes, Rhianna, He-Man, Roster Deals

LeAnn Rimes is an American singer-songwriter and actress, best known for her work in country music. She is best known for her rich vocals similar to country music singer Patsy Cline, and her rise to fame at the age of 13, becoming the youngest country music star since Tanya Tucker in 1972.
Rimes made her breakthrough into country music in 1996. Her debut album, Blue, reached Number 1 on the Top Country Albums chart and was certified "multi-platinum" in sales by the Recording Industry Association of America. The album's lead single of the same name (originally intended to be recorded by Patsy Cline in the early 1960s) became a Top 10 hit. With immediate success, Rimes attained widespread national acclaim for her similarities to Cline's vocal style. When Rimes released her sophomore studio effort in 1997, You Light up My Life: Inspirational Songs, Rimes went more towards country pop material, which would set the trend for a string of albums that would be released into the next decade.
Since her debut, Rimes has won many major industry awards, which include three Grammys, three ACMs, one CMA, twelve Billboard Music Awards, and one American Music award. In addition, Rimes has also released ten studio albums and four compilation albums through her record label of 13 years, Asylum-Curb, and placed over 40 singles on American and international charts since 1996.

The Paper Scissors - Lung Sum

Australian indie band The Paper Scissors have announced the release of the first single ‘Lung Sum’ from their second full-length album In Loving Memory.
Launching into the Australian music scene with the punchy ‘We Don’t Walk’, the band quickly attracted the attention of community radio and Triple J. Soon after, the song became nationally recognised as the backdrop to several popular Australian TV dramas and ads.
The Paper Scissors have since delivered music drawing on everything from soul to pop, punk and indie, that channel a feeling of immediacy delivered through a punchy guitar and drum sound with Jai’s anguished, edgy vocals. The bands high-voltage live show has seen them co-headline a national tour with crazy rockers Bluejuice, as well as hit the stages of festivals around the country.
With the delivery of their new single ‘Lung Sum’, it’s clear that the boys have come of age, shedding themselves of the novelty of youth and exploring slightly more serious subject matter. ‘Lung Sum’ is less introspective than their previous work and walks the line between being darkly emotive while remaining fun and energetic. ‘Lung Sum’ is the much-anticipated first single from The Paper Scissors forthcoming album ‘In Loving Memory’ released through Sandcastle Music.

Eliza Doolittle

Eliza Doolittle is a British pop singer mining sounds from the ’60s and ’70s, while bringing her own undeniable unique spin on pop music. Her sassy lyrics and jaunty melodies fit nicely along-side the sharp production, splicing ska, funk, jazz and soul. Her debut album on Capitol Records brings to mind everything from the Kinks, to the Marvelettes to the Beach Boys.
22-year-old Doolittle is releasing her debut U.S album in late November on Capitol Records called Meet Eliza Doolittle. Eliza co-wrote all of the tracks along with esteemed writers and producers, including Greg Kurstin (Lily Allen, SIA), the late Jonny $ (Kylie, Massive Attack), and Craigie Dodds (Amy Winehouse).
The result is a witty pop collection that mines sounds from the ’60s and ’70s while still sounding indisputably fresh. The one-two punch of “Rollerblades” and her U.K. debut “Skinny Genes” recall lost songs from the Motown era by the Marvelettes and The Supremes.

Eliza will be playing industry-only showcases in California
Los Angeles 10/26 @ Hotel Cafe
San Francsisco 10/27 @ Hotel Utah Saloon

Notorious rockers LIZARD SKYNARD are ready to drop the ‘bomb’ that is their self-titled debut album.
A doctoral candidate in Philosophy, Erik Sprague / The Lizardman is interesting way beyond his obviously-compelling surface. Sprague has undergone approximately 700 hours of tattoo work, his body is inked in scales which are about 70 percent green. He has made modifications to his tongue (split in two) and his teeth (filed to points) and has large gauge holes in his ears. The word FREAK emblazoned upon his chest is a profession and philosophy for Sprague, evidenced by his fronting LIZARD SKYNARD.
Kindred spirits and journeymen rockers in their own right, brothers Eric (keyboards) and Jason 'Mossy' Vaughn (guitarist / songwriter previously of The Heavils and Caustic Thought), Russell Gillespie (bass) previously of Mothertrucker and Johnny Baker (drums) previously of Waco Jesus, join this human anomaly in his charge toward the rock crown. Musically, the quintet gel to create a diverse soundscape comparable to the progressive Metal sounds of their contemporaries Mastodon, Baroness and Clutch, to the more obscure, esoteric electronic- Industrial styles of early Nine Inch Nails and Ministry.
The new self-titled album, featuring standout tracks such as “Normal”, “Ocean Electric” and “Space Eels”, was recorded at Electrical Audio studios with Greg Norman ( Russian Circles, Pelican, Neurosis, Shellac) and mastered at Chicago Mastering with Jason Ward ( Big Black, Jesus Lizard, Deerhunter) and will be officially available today via iTunes.

Recoil "Want" The Architect Mixes: Available Today!

Following the release of Selected earlier this year, Recoil announces the release of Want, available today (18 Oct 2010) as a special download package. Three new versions of Want(featuring Nicole Blackman) have been expertly put together by Architect, the creation of German mastermind Daniel Myer.
Alan Wilder explains: "Having embarked on a series of live events earlier this year, entitled ‘A Strange Hour’, I found myself re-visiting and re-working many of my favourite pieces. With this in mind, I also kept my ears open for interesting people to contribute to this process and quite early into the tour was introduced to Daniel and his array of projects. I spent many an hour in various hotel gyms, headphones connected, being strangely hypnotised by his work - in particular from Architect’s recent album ‘Consume Adapt Create’.”
In 1993 Daniel Myer founded the legendary electro-industrial/EBM project Haujobb. Since then he has made a name for himself within the electronic scene and initiated many other projects such as HMB, Newt and Destroid. Since 2007, Myer has been a permanent member of the renowned Swedish EBM band Covenant. Architect was created in 1998 and can be easily described as the most fascinating of Daniel's projects. Focusing primarily on minimal techno, powerfully distorted sequences and razor-sharp breakbeats, Architect creates a unique hybrid of electronica with smooth ambient soundscapes, rendering the results suitable for both listening and dancing.
Included in the Want package is a new film to accompany the main mix. Directed by Dmitry Semenov, the films use time-lapse photography and features Daria Kuznetsova & Sergey Kochetkov. The package also includes a downloadable photographic book, shot during Recoil's European tour between April & May 2010 by Ivana Dvorska, plus an additional bonus mix of Jezebel by Ehron VonAllen.
Recoil and Architect tour North & South America over the coming weeks, including dates with Gary Numan, see below or go to: for full details and ticket links

The free Recoil iPhone app, available now, allows you to follow Alan’s activities and the fan’s thoughts & musings whilst Recoil is on the road or in the studio. As well as providing a hub for Recoil’s social networking, there is also access to photos, videos, audio and Alan’s concepts behind each of his albums.

Toronto's Gabi Epstein Shows Off With Debut Release‏

Art by its very nature is expansive. Just ask Gabi Epstein. A Toronto native, Epstein has been performing for as long as she can remember. Both in stage musicals and in solo cabarets, Gabi has become known as one of the city’s leading young cabaret performers. And now, with the release of her debut full length album Show Off, Epstein is ready to let her honest and soothing voice work wonders on listeners.
Produced by Canadian jazz singer John Alcorn, Show Off features a gifted and able band, including Mark Kieswetter on piano, Artie Roth on bass, and Davide Direnzo on drums and percussion. The band gives weight to Epstein’s voice and vision, making Show Off an album that is buoyant in nature but genuine in its passion. From the bouncy title track, which displays the full range of Epstein’s vocal abilities, to her solemn take on the beauty of “Good Mother,” Show Off is ripe with clarity. Throughout her work both onstage and her work performing in cabarets, Epstein has attained a vision that is heard constantly throughout the album.
An immensely talented actress, Epstein’s love of performing and art simply cannot be contained. Having studied Voice at McGill University and completing her Bachelor of Music, Gabi has performed at renowned venues including The Pantages Hotel, Trane Studio, The Toronto Centre for the Arts, and The Algonquin Hotel in New York City. But Gabi decided she needed to take her cabaret career one step further. Teaming up with Alcorn allowed her to finally capture her cabaret performance on record. Being an actor first and foremost, her live shows contain an energy that is often difficult to encapsulate. But this isn’t the case on Show Off. Tracks like ‘Corner Of The Sky’ contain an ample warmth while her moving, piano-laden cover of Tom Petty’s ‘I Won’t Back Down’ is both joyous and tasteful. Epstein gives credit where it’s due, and acknowledges Alcorn’s subtle touches on the record: “He captured me as a cabaret artist. He got the right emotion out of me for all of the songs and allowed me to express myself tastefully.”
It’s a remarkable thing for an artist like Epstein to have the chance to spread her wings. It’s even more remarkable when you consider the infinite possibilities of the future of Gabi Epstein’s career as an artist and a performer.

Catch Gabi’s CD release show November 7th at Revival in Toronto. Tickets are $10 at the door, doors at 7pm.

A DAY TO REMEMBER Poised For Major Breakthrough With New Album‏

Since their formation in 2003, Ocala, Florida’s A Day To Remember have grown from a small band with a dedicated local fan-base into a worldwide phenomenon, gaining the respect and adoration from their peers as much as their fans. This hasn’t been an overnight success story – A Day To Remember has worked hard to win over every fan they make. Over the course of three albums, they have sold out entire continental tours, landed a Top 25 Billboard debut and topped the Billboard Indie Albums Chart.
The band has displayed their unmatched musicianship on their three previous efforts: For Those Who Have Heart, Old Record, and their most recent and popular album: Homesick. As stated by Rock Sound Magazine: “ADTR are the poster boys of a genre on the cusp of a new revolution.”
Their dedication, rapid, and steady-spreading buzz album after album along with their undeniable musical abilities have made this young band one of the most talked about in rock. Unlike most bands in the current decayed state of the music business, with each album their sales and live draw have increased. Their popularity will continue to rise to deafening levels with the release of their fourth album, What Separates Me From You, on November 16th on Victory Records.
The band’s first single from the new album: “All I Want” is already drawing major attention. Within the first 24 hours of it being posted online on KROQ’s (Los Angeles’ flagship rock station) website, the song registered over 61,000 views setting a KROQ record. Last week, the track was also one of the most added songs at alternative and rock radio. The track is now available on iTunes and is already #3 on the Rock Singles Chart.
Lead singer Jeremy McKinnon gives his thoughts on “All I Want.” “This song is about the struggle that comes with doing what's right for you, even if it doesn't make sense to others,” commented Jeremy. “Live life for yourself, and be happy.”
It’s been a quick turn around for A Day To Remember who’s last album, Homesick, was just released in February 2009. The album sold over 21,000 albums within the first week, landing it at #21 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and setting the tone for the rest of the year to come.
Their spring 2010 headlining run sold out every date, making it one of the hottest tickets of the year. Immediately following the conclusion of the tour the band headed to Europe for a month of festivals, but naturally, they were always thinking ahead.
“We had been writing constantly since Homesick. The whole album was written on the road, and we actually took Andrew Wade overseas with us. We’d all write and record ideas on the bus that we brought to Chad [Gilbert] to work out when we got home” Says Jeremy of the writing process for What Separates Me From You.
Amidst writing and recording the new album, things were still going strong for Homesick. Both “I’m Made of Wax Larry, What Are You Made Of?” and “Have Faith in Me” were added by MTV2 and MTVU and earned themselves a coveted spot in the Elite 8 rotation. “Have Faith in Me” was the Most Requested Song on KROQ five weeks in a row while receiving 7000+ spins at Active Rock and Alternative radio stations across the U.S. The buzz surrounding the band was only heightened with their appearances at X Games, Krock-athon, Epicenter and at the Reading and Leeds Festivals. Coinciding, “The Downfall of Us All” was released on Rock Band and currently, “NJ Legion Iced Tea” is the second most popular track on Guitar Hero.
What Separates Me From You takes things a giant step further. The band showcases their characteristic mix of monstrous sing-a-long choruses and mosh-pit-inducing breakdowns, however this time around the lyrics are darker than ever. They are based off of true, deep-seeded emotion which Jeremy explains as his most honest and personal writings to date. “I know what the lyrics mean to me, but my hope is that our fans take away their own interpretation.”
Keeping true to ADTR fashion, the band has huge plans for 2011, beginning with a US tour this fall (which includes label mates Close Your Eyes). What Separates Me From You shows the band’s widening spectrum and is certainly the triumphant next step in their already shining career. They have perfected a genre and their latest effort enhances their already impressive catalog, hitting harder and bouncing bigger than ever before.

UT Announces US Tour: Nov 2010

UT have announced a series of US dates that includes a headline slot at Theoretical Music festival in Brooklyn on 5 November 2010. With the exception of an unannounced show at the Luminaire in London in July 2010, these will be their first shows in over 20 years, Ut last performed in Paris in March 1990.
A seminal influence on later bands such as Sonic Youth, Ut (Nina Canal, Jacqui Ham and Sally Young) originated in New York City in December 1978, sprung from the downtown No Wave scene. The inheritors of the fertile collision between rock, free jazz and the avant garde that first manifest itself in the Velvet Underground, Ut soon became a serious force within the New York music scene.
The band were joined briefly by film-maker Karen Achenbach in 1979 before resuming as a three-piece and migrating to London in 1981. Ut toured the UK with bands such as The Fall, The Birthday Party, The Raincoats and Pigbag. Originally releasing albums on their own label, Out Records, distributed by Rough Trade Records, the band became a favourite of John Peel’s ( and recorded sessions for his show in 1984 and 1987 before joining forces with Blast First in 1987.
Ut never softened or diluted its force, its restless confrontation and its pull on the secret heart of rock and roll.

The tightly interwoven, firmly focused sound... is rich, spooky, urgent and quite unexpectedly beautiful.”
In 1989 the band recorded and released the album Griller. Engineered by label mate Steve Albini, who shared Ut's raw aesthetic, Griller captured the gripping intensity and sheer power of the Ut experience.

The Bodies Obtained!!

Ladies and gentlemen, the schizophrenic sounds of The Bodies Obtained have returned. With their first two opuses, 2008’s From The Top Of My Tree and 2009’s Dead Plans, the mysterious Detroit-based project set the bar for underground experimental music going into a new decade—but with their third release in as many years, I Cry When You Cry, the band have matched their adept musical skills with their undeniable creativity. The elements of the first two records are all there: the insightful lyrics, the ethereal nature of musical touchstones such as Fad Gadget, early PiL and Suicide, and a veritable bevy of synths programmed to simultaneously engage your ear and destroy the very essence of what you thought was possible in the realm of experimental electronica.
Not that it is all keyboard fun and robot games: the very human core that makes The Bodies Obtained so relatable is stronger than ever. Tracks such as “Pandemic, bleed emotion with a resounding chorus of “Is there anyone you hate more than me.”
On “In The Land of Make Believe,” an ambient ballad constructed around the plaintive tones of one of The Bodies Obtained’s many synths, the vocals mimic the music’s general tonalities until the whole piece stretches out to a droning finish.
Conversely other tracks like I Cry’s opener “Into the Light” reflect a different side of The Bodies Obtained that has yet to be seen—if not exactly “pop,” than a definite upbeat dance cut that will have diehard The Bodies Obtained fans quizzically scratching their heads while shuffling their feet.
I Cry’s closer, the dark wave-tinted “End of a Dreams,” comes off as “Into the Light’s” evil twin brother, up-tempo and charging, but casting a sinister shadow on the tail end of the album.
I Cry When You Cry hit shelves on August 24th via Finding You Attractive.

Album Tracklisting:
1. Into The Light
2. Are You Happy There?
3. Forever Is The Love We Have
4. In The Land Of Make Believe
5. Pandemic
6. Don’t Give Up On Me
7. Throw It On The Fire
8. They Call Me A Dark Cloud
9. Where Do We Belong?
10. End Of A Dream

Meet Rivera! It's a pleasure.

RIVERA is a project that has been a long time in the making. This Connecticut based rock band (formerly known as The Day Spring) is back. They've severed ties with any scene dominating local or popular music that compromises creativity or sets rigid rules of how to look and sound. This is raw, honest rock and roll that they've allowed to head in any direction it takes them. "Miracles" is off their upcoming EP, In The Annex.

They currently have a couple East Coast shows, and keep checking their myspace for new show additions and updates on their upcoming EP!

Earlier this week, Montreal’s BLACKGUARD announced their pairing with VICTORY RECORDS.
The band has released this statement regarding the signing, the departure of a member, and their non-stop touring plans well into 2011.
We are very pleased to announce our signing to Victory Records!
At first (and second) glance this might seem like an odd pairing, but Victory is a very hard working label that we are all 100% behind. The Victory Staff has welcomed us with open arms and is committed to pushing our next release to its full potential. It's no secret that we've been touring extensively this past year and a half, and it's comforting to know we have a label backing us that is willing to work and put in as much effort as we have for the release of our 3rd record (2nd under the name BLACKGUARD).
That being said we are hard at work completing our next record which has a tentative release date for April . The release will coincide with a North American tour that isn't announced yet, but when it does it's going to turn heads.
Now for a bit of sad news…
For those of you who have seen us play recently with Leaves Eyes and on the Nevermore tour, you have no doubt noticed the absence of our Keyboardist Jo. We're sad to say that Jo has officially left the band to pursue other endeavors.
There's no drama here, and we're all still good friends. Jo simply felt his time with the band had come to an end and we have amicably parted ways.
BLACKGUARD will remain a 5 piece for the foreseeable future.
We're currently having a blast on the Nevermore tour! There have been some great shows and sharing the stage with so many great bands has been a pleasure thus far. Hatesphere , Warbringer and Nevermore are bringing it every night so this is not a tour you want to miss .
Our run on this tour goes all the way to Nov 5th so check our tour dates and come out.
After this we go right back at it again with our good friends EPICA, Scar Symmetry and The Agonist all the way to mid Dec.
Then we get to kick off the New Year with Deicide, Belphegor, Neuraxis and Pathology from Feburary 15th to March 10th.
Take care everyone, and we'll see you on the road!

Abel is releasing their Come&Live! debut, Lesser Men, this coming Tuesday. The ten track album will be available at as a free download on October 19, 2010. The band is extremely excited to offer this to their listeners as a free gift, and one of the new tracks, entitled "Saints", is now streaming on their Myspace page.

The new record showcases Abel's soulful indie rock style and worshipful lyrics. "This album is about forgiveness," shares Abel vocalist Kevin Kneifel. "That no matter how far you walk away from God, He will always take you back."
Writing for Lesser Men began after a successful tour with Deas Vail in August 2009. The band's creativity was stirred and they immediately began to pen new songs upon their return. However, this creativity only lasted so long. "We wrote about five or six songs right when we got back, but started getting frustrated with what we were making," explains Kneifel. "We hit a brick wall." Following winter touring, the band once again dove into the songwriting process. "A lot of the pressures from the previous year were gone when we got back in January," shares Kneifel. "We really took some time to refocus on Christ and work together. That's when the dam broke and we suddenly had a whole album ready."
Releasing Lesser Men for free on Come&Live! is a step of faith for Abel, and clearly aligns with the band's mission to glorify God through their art. "The music industry is such an unstable place right now," explains Kneifel. "And it reminds us that nothing is certain except for God's provision. Joining Come&Live! has helped us see that more and more, and we're excited to become a part of the ministry there--and to build our own as well."

From the People Who Brought You N.A.S.A: FuzZ

FuzZ is the first new artist signed to Spectrophonic Sound, the label owned and ran by Squeak E. Clean, music producer and one half of the critically-acclaimed group N.A.S.A.
His new album, Sparkle Vision is a 23-minute collection of delightfully evil, and strangely sparkly music. Meshing distorted funk riffs with 80’s inspired synthesis and heavy psychedelic interludes, Sparkle Vision fuses several musical influences into a cohesive, and enjoyable wall of sound. Think Major Lazer on acid. Sparkle Vision, drops October 26 on Spectrophonic Sound.
