Lindsey Mae Christmas Song!

Okay it's almost December so I'd say it's about time to get in the fucking spirit of Christmas, my favourite holiday!!!
I've always been a sucker for Christmas songs, especially when working at HMV you have to start listening to it in November... ugh. That gets a little sickening, but now that I'm no longer at HMV I can love up the Xmas tunes again.
Lindsey Mae, the young girl with the beautiful voice from NY, has done a version of one of my favourites, Happy Christmas, and it's up on her myspace. If you love red green and everything else Christmas like I do I recommend checking it out here!

David Letterman supports male kissing!

Although I am not a fan of Adam Lambert of previous American Idol fame, I am outraged by the fact that he's gotten such horrible backlash from the American Music Awards performance where he performed Janet Jackson'esque risque moves on stage and kissed a boy.
Why is it that Madonna and Britney can kiss purely for publicity, but Mr. Lambert can't do it in the heat of the performance, when he actually ENJOYS it and isn't just trying to get ratings?

Because kids might be watching?

Bull. Shit.

Great message to all the kids out there, being gay is okay as long as you keep it away.

Go suck a dick America!

Check out both performances here

New Album Coming Spring 2010 – Free Christmas Song Now Available on
Band Hitting the Road on the ‘A Very Acoustic Christmas’ and the ‘Once It Hits Your Lips’ Tours This Winter

Alternative-pop solo artist, THE READY SET, has signed to Pete Wentz’s Decaydance Records and Sire Records for the first release in the newly minted joint venture between the two labels. THE READY SET is currently in and out of the studio and will release his first full-length album in the spring of 2010.
Known as a jack of all trades; drummer, singer and keyboardist Jordan Witzigreuter (who goes by the moniker THE READY SET) is more than ready to lay his claim in the music world. Citing everyone from Daft Punk and Kenna to Kanye West as influences, Jordan stresses that there is no specific comparison that can be made for his music - and that is just the way he likes it. To be unique and genuine in today's scene is something rarely seen by contemporaries today, but it seems to be easily mastered by this young musician.
As the powered Rock-It Radio ‘unsigned artist of the month’ only back in October, THE READY SET proves that a lot can happen in just a few months time. To celebrate the band’s signing to Decaydance/Sire, is currently featuring a FREE DOWNLOAD of a brand new Christmas track entitled “The Blizzard of ’89 (featuring Christofer Drew of Never Shout Never)’ and will be the website’s Exclusive Download of The Week starting tomorrow. The track can also be found streaming on and the bands MySpace page.
Having shared the stage with the likes of Boys Like Girls, Never Shout Never, and The Scene Aesthetic, THE READY SET has already developed a passionate and loyal fan-base in a relatively brand new career. The self-described shy and reserved Jordan literally transforms when taking the stage with an in-your-face memorable live show - complete with explosive lighting effects, infectious melodies and mind-blowing beats. "Our shows are a party… All I care about is having fun.” says Jordan. THE READY SET will be hitting the road the ‘A Very Acoustic Christmas’ tour with Stephen Jerzak and Breathe Electric starting December 28 in Tulsa, OK. The band will then embark on the ‘Once It Hits Your Lips’ tour with The Friday Night Boys, Anarbor and The Bigger Lights to jump-start the new year. The ‘Once It Hits Your Lips’ tour kicks off January 22 in South Hackensack, NJ, and is scheduled to end in West Palm Beach, FL February 13.
THE READY SET will be following up with Rock-It Radio today at 3pm to chat about the signing, the new album, his upcoming tours as well as debuting the new track on the air. Be sure to check out THE READY SET on tour this winter and let the infectious melodies carry you away.
Tour dates follow, and are also available online at
THE READY SET has also partnered with Shameless Skateboards hosting the Collab Shirt Design contest and is a part of the Feed the Beat Campaign, so you might catch the band at your local Taco Bell.

Orange County hardcore band Bleeding Through, preparing to enter the studio to record its sixth studio effort, will be hitting the road in the New Year for an overseas tour with Machine Head. The Black Procession Tour will also include Hatebreed, and All Shall Perish.
Five brand new U.K. and Irish dates have just been announced on the trek. Fan presale links for tickets will be made available on Wednesday, November 25 and general public ticket sales begin on Friday, November 27.
“We are very stoked to be finally touring with our friends Machine Head,” Bleeding Through lead singer Brandan Schieppati declares. “It has been a long time coming and certainly a major plus touring with Hatebreed, and All Shall Perish again as well. We always love coming to Europe and especially the U.K. so the fact that more shows have been added and the return to Ireland is going to be the best possible scenario to start off the New Year.”
Hailed by Revolver as one of the bands ushering in the Future of Metal, Bleeding Through has also been heralded by Spin as an “artist to watch.” Preparing to assault fans with new music in 2010, for now, European fans will have to be satiated by the band’s blistering live show.

Big Ass Titties!

Big changes are coming to MusicSheBlogged soon, and I'm hoping all the readers are as excited as I am!
First of all, expect a brand new website that ISN'T a blogspot so you can all post comments and shit without having to sign up, and in addition to that we're going to add a MusicSheBlogged Facebook page as well as a Twitter account (I know I hate it too but hey, might as well jump on the bandwagon).
Exciting eh!?
I'm hoping to get a page up where fans can submit photos of shows and their own reviews, but until then if you have some already you want me to throw up as soon as the site launches please email them to me at, along with any ideas or input on the site about what you'd like to see more of/less of, etc.
On top of that we're going to start getting some major video interviews going, I have a big one lined up for December but I don't want to mention any names until everything is 100% confirmed, but if you want a hint they've been around for about 10 years now, are playing in December in Toronto despite a very recent show here, and they're from Brampton. SHHHH! *fingers crossed* I'm super fucking stoked for this though, they were the first band I ever saw live in a real concert setting (not a Cobourg basement show) and it would be amazing if they end up being my first interview as well.
Also, LAUNCH PARTY SHOW in the works, fuck yes, for early next year once everything is finished... so you better fucking come out to that.
And to top it off I'm adding a few more writers to the team, and hopefully getting a broader range of reviews going... and you guys will eventually get to see my face plastered everywhere, which, I really hope doesn't result in me getting my ass kicked by any of the bands I've shit on in the past.

Anyways, thanks for reading, and again please email me and let me know what you think.

I'm Sarah, I do what I want.

Twin Atlantic Stream!

Glasgow’s Twin Atlantic has teamed up with to offer music fans an exclusive stream of the brand new “Skrillex Remix” of its latest single, “What Is Light? Where Is Laughter?”
The song was remixed by Twin Atlantic fan Skrillex (AKA Sonny Moore of Sonny/From First to Last fame) and can be streamed here:
"It reminds us of driving too fast in our friends’ cars when they just passed their tests and going to Archaos Club in Glasgow on a Friday night for the dancing,”
Twin Atlantic singer/guitarist Sam McTrusty explains.
“Sonny has put his own spin on our song and we really respect that."
"I had a lot of fun doing this remix, It was my first time dealing with a Scottish a cappella, not to mention a track that wasn't done to a click, which was a little bit of a challenge. On top of that it was the first drum and bass track I attempted to make which is a total different monster than house or electro as far as mix goes. But nonetheless, it was a great pleasure to do this remix. It always helps when the vocal performance emits that special 'thing' we can't really put our fingers on but know when it's there." Says Moore.

The Scottish rockers deliver a powerful performance in vivid color in the brand new music video for the original track which was shot in downtown Los Angeles by Hannah Lux Davis. Praised by Alternative Press for their
"thick, late-90s post-hardcore influenced beats intermingling with spacey guitar noodles,"
Twin Atlantic has already shared stages with the likes of Smashing Pumpkins, Circa Survive and Taking Back Sunday and just wrapped up a UK tour with Fall of Troy.
Watch the new "What Is Light? Where Is Laughter?" video at
A “What Is Light? Where Is Laughter?" single will be available digitally in the U.S. on December 1, which comes bundled with three b-sides (including the Skrillex remix.) In the UK, the single will be available November 30 on two separate limited edition 7” vinyl singles, as well as a digital bundle.

Here’s what the UK press have been saying about Twin Atlantic:
“There’s something gloriously impassioned about Sam McTrusty’s vocals. Yearning, searching, hoping and, above all, real.”– KERRANG!
“Be warned – this band is going to be huge!”– ROCKSOUND
“Marvelously chaotic"- BBC RADIO 1

So I wasn't the most hardcore fan out there but in a lot of ways I still grew up on this band, I guess most people did who would be reading this right now, but regardless they have been impressing me more and more recently the way they can hold true to the same'ish NOFX sound that I remember from grades 4/5/6/7/8/9/10/11/12...
They've been around since before I was born and yet their new EP Cokie the Clown is still as legit as Punk in Drublic from '94.
Holy punk rock Batman!

Wendy’s and MySpace Records have teamed up to launch a new Internet series called “Fresh Faces.” Building on Wendy’s motto of ‘You Know When It’s Real,’ the ongoing Web program will include 9 episodes from three different emerging artists showing what a ‘day in the life’ of a budding new artist is like.
Each “Fresh Faces” artist will have its own 3 episodes than can be seen exclusively at, in addition to a 3-song EP available for free download on the site. A new episode will debut every Wednesday throughout the series.
The latest episode, featuring LA hip hop artist IamOMNI ( is up now at
Stay tuned for new episodes on future “Fresh Faces” artists, including a Brooklyn based beat-pop band, all handpicked from MySpace Records’ Friends and Family, a group of developing artists MySpace Records helps market and promote.

About IamOMNI:

IamOMNI is the microphone at the mouth of today’s young world. He voices their wants: love of self, the love of another; freedom of mind, freedom of lifestyle, the freedom of adventure and discovery; health and wealth, both financial and spiritual. He ponders their issues and anxieties - the paranoia that is a byproduct of this modern life of HIV and closed-circuit camera, the confusion of living in a world overflowing yet somehow empty. He lives their indulgences: weed, alcohol, cigarettes, sex, caffeine, fast food: a life of lows and highs. He preaches their values: loyalty, independence, dedication, determination. IamOMNI's sound bridges genres from hip-hop to crunk, rock to soul, and his come-one-come-all attitude and embrace of all styles of music gives him an appeal that scores across the board, regardless of your age, ethnicity or musical taste. And even if you can’t understand a word he’s saying, his warm, deep vocal tone and steadfast adherence to the MC’s First Commandment (move the crowd) are guaranteed to keep his tune in your head way after the song’s over.

About MySpace Records Friends & Family:
The Friends & Family Artist Development Program created by MySpace Records, nurtures and promotes some of the best unsigned artists currently on MySpace Music. Along with operating as a fully functioning label, MySpace Records runs the Artist Development initiative to empower artists who are unsigned and self-released, and provide these artists with an extensive set of tools and opportunities to market themselves on MySpace Music.
Currently standing at over 100 artists strong and growing, the Artist Development Program covers a gamut of musical genres including pop, alternative, hip hop and acoustic singer-songwriters, with premier acts including Emily Wells, All Smiles, Mary Magdalan and Kimberly Cole.

The Knockdown go on hiatus and make me cry.

One of my favourite lesser-known bands from the States, The Knockdown, is taking a break from making music together for a while.

And my world comes crashing down...

They posted this on their myspace blog to explain why:
The Knockdown hanging it up for a while
As some people may know, we're going on hiatus for a bit. With me in Florida and the rest of the guys in New York, we just can't be the kind of band we want to be. To say that this band affected my life in a positive way would be a gross understatment. Traveling with my best friends and meeting so many amazing people over the years has enriched my life greatly and it's sad to have to hang it up for now. This isn't to say that The Knockdown is completely done. Don't write us off yet!

In the meantime, Jay, Eric, Natoli, and Fatman have been hard at work getting TIMESHARES ready and will be playing their first shows next month. If you haven't already, head over to their myspace and check them out. It rules!

As for me, I am writing new songs and starting an online store called Landslide Distribution. Look for more info on that over the next few months.

Thanks to everyone who has been with us over the last five years. Thanks for listening.
Lucky for me, and I guess the rest of the fans, the new band Timeshares is actually pretty good, check them out, the first song is named for me I'm pretty sure.

I'm Sarah. I do what I want. Premieres 'Miss May I' Video From Saw VI Soundtrack!

Spence Nicholson (The Devil Wears Prada, Hollywood Undead) directs this dynamic video featuring scenes from the latest installment of the "SAW" series. Victory Records Signs Amber Pacific

Amber Pacific are back and newly signed to Victory Records.
Their emotional blend of powerful, "pop-punk rock" is a fitting addition to our diverse roster. As an established band, with two full length albums and two EPs already under their belt, they have sold 175,000 records to date. The band is eagerly preparing to head into the studio to record their Victory Records' debut which will be released in early 2010. Guitarist Will Nutter had this to say about the recent signing, "We're excited and really looking forward to accomplishing great things with Victory!"

Phantom Communique, the Los Angeles four-piece formed by former Bleed The Dream singer Brandon Thomas, will begin selling its 4-song debut EP at all upcoming shows, giving concertgoers a taste of the band’s forthcoming full-length debut.
Entitled The Wolf And The Sheep, the full length disc will be released February 23 2010. The band will play a local show with Key Club resident faves Steel Panther on Monday, November 23.
Phantom Communique was formed during a personal breaking point for vocalist Brandon Thomas. Having just parted ways with the successful but tumultuous band Bleed The Dream, with whom he had toured the world and released two full-lengths, Thomas was determined to flex his artistic muscles again, and quickly assembled the kind of ragtag misfits that would help bring his musical visions to fruition under the Phantom Communique banner.
Teaming up with longtime friend, and former guitarist in Opiate for the Masses, Jim Kaufman, the new band was quickly welcomed into the fold of Kaufman’s new label, American Voodoo Records.
Gritty, emotionally stirring and vibrant with vitriol, Phantom Communique possess a dynamic and undeniable spirit. With a respect for the rock of old and a knack for heavy hooks, the Los Angeles foursome perfectly captures that spirit in the studio.

We Are The In Crowd, the four-piece band from Poughkeepsie, NY, formed earlier this year and newly signed to independent label Hopeless Records, will have its current single, “For The Win” featured on tonight’s episode of MTV’s “The Hills”, with repeats airing throughout the weekend.
“For The Win” is available now on iTunes and a acoustic version of the song is streaming exclusively at
The band, made up of Tay Jardine on vocals, Jordan Eckes on guitar and vocals, bassist Mike Ferri and drummer Rob Chianelli, used its talent and ingenuity to propel themselves into the hearts of many. Instead of relying on image and sugar-coated, meaningless lyrics, We Are The In Crowd focused on one goal. “We really try and tell a story,” says Jardine.
Collectively, We Are The In Crowd released the following statement:
"We're beyond stoked to be a part of the Hopeless Records family. This label has been home to so many artists that have inspired us over the years. It's so awesome to think we're joining a team with such an impressive history."
We Are The In Crowd has just posted a video announcement about their signing to Hopeless here:
Armed with a unique combination of both male and female vocals, the band has created honest, emotional pop rock songs that embody everything that you want to say but don’t know how. This honest depiction of young adult trials and tribulations has helped We Are The In Crowd gain a rabid fan base that hangs on every word and every chord.

Take Notice Annouce Album Details - The Get-Go 7"!‏

Michigan's TAKE NOTICE is proud to announce details for their upcoming I Surrender Records release. While their full-length debut is in the works, the band will be releasing The Get-Go 7", available digitally on NOVEMBER 23rd and on vinyl DECEMBER 15th!

Take Notice represents everything fast-paced and high-energy, breathing new life into the familiar, time-tested glory of melodic hardcore. "It's energetic. It's upbeat. It may be complicated when you break it down but it's accessible to everybody, that's important. It's raw, it's music you can feel." Midwest boys with a distinctly east coast sound, Take Notice calls to mind iconic bands like Kid Dynamite, Lifetime, and The Movielife.

The four-song vinyl will be pressed in four colors: Blue (ltd. 375), Yellow (ltd. 375), Black (ltd. 125) and Pink (ltd. 125). The Get-GO 7" is the perfect opportunity to get a taste for Take Notice, guaranteed to get listeners fired up and ready for more.

RIP Hostage Life

One of the best punk bands to come out of Toronto, Hostage Life, has officially called it quits according to their blog...
"This may seem like it is coming out of left field, but one of us had some personal problems that needed to be taken care of and the rest of the band decided it would be better to break up than to continue a man short. Thanks to everyone that helped, watched, hated, loved, and listened."
Their last show will be at Sneaky Dee's in Toronto on November 20th.

Fuck buddy. Another one bites the dust.. :(

MUSICSHEBLOGGED looking for graphic designer and camera man for interviews!

I'm currently searching for a graphic designer to help revamp this site to look more professional, so if you've got the skillz necessary for this task please email me at
Also, if you live in Toronto and like going to shows for free and can handle a video camera, please email me as well as I am starting to do interviews for bands and need somebody who can film and edit these for me... right now I am doing it all myself and to be honest I'm not that great and could use a helping hand!
