Los Angeles rock band LoveHateHero is currently streaming America Underwater, its new release in stores September 29 on Ferret Music, all over the Worldwide Web via Myspace, Facebook, Purevolume, iLike, Last FM, as well as on Ferret's iPhone App so you can listen while you are away from your computer.
The band’s third full length release focuses more on its well-developed vocal melodies and cleanly polished hooks, clearly showing a band that has matured and hit its stride.
"Everyone's better at what they're doing so we were able to get more creative," singer Pierrick Berube explains. "The album still holds true to the band's sound but adds so much more depth, while at the same time being a more care free album.” Receiving 3 ½ stars from Alternative Press, the tastemaker magazine wrote of American Underwater: “Bursting with strong melodies…their choruses are the kind that can only be removed from your brain by surgery or a bullet.”
If storming the Internet with 10 brand new anthems isn’t enough, LoveHateHero has also released its brand new video for the title track off America Underwater. Shot in Lake Mohave, AZ this past summer, the clip was directed by Spence Nicholson (Hollywood Undead, Hit the Lights, The Devil Wears Prada).

Reprise Records artists The Used have announced the release of The Beginning: The Used Music Video Collection. The limited edition DVD contains the complete archives of The Used’s professional music videos, in chronological order. The Beginning will be available only at starting September 22, 2009.
The Used are out now supporting the release of their fourth studio album, Artwork, which is in stores now. After a European run they will return home to begin a nationwide headlining fall tour. The month-long run kicks off October 9th in Las Vegas, NV and runs through November 13th in Seattle, WA. The Almost and Drive A will be supporting.
Critical acclaim for the Matt Squire-produced Artwork has been effusive. Outburn (which the band currently graces the cover of) praised its "humbling ability to sound scrappy and raw while being perfectly polished and huge," while Alternative Press states "The Used have delivered not only the definitive album of their career but arguably one of the best records you'll hear in 2009. 4 ½ stars."
The band’s legions of fans are responding as well. The first single, "Blood On My Hands" premiered on iTunes with over 5k downloads in the first day, the highest digital debut in the band's history. The video for the song debuted on MySpace and shot directly to the #1 spot, with 200,00 views in the first 24 hours. The Used performed “Blood On My Hands” to a sold out crowd on Jimmy Kimmel Live September 11, 2009.

Tracklisting for The Beginning: The Used Music Video Collection is as follows:
A Box Full of Sharp Objects
The Taste of Ink
Buried Myself Alive

With a studio date looming close, Kelowna, BC’s We Are The City realized they were going to need some financial support to raise enough money to record an album. They launched a donation page with four different packages and through the online assistance of their loyal fans were able to raise enough money to put towards album costs. Released in May earlier this year In A Quiet World has won the band new fans, great reviews, and given those donations a true sense of existence.
Now set to tour Canada, We Are The City is a three piece progressive indie rock act featuring three young composers. Cayne McKenzie (vocals, keys), David Menzel (guitar), and Andy Huculiak (drums) paint out a sincere and beautiful interpretation of life; exploring evocative sounds and storytelling. Cayne has been classically trained in piano for eight years and playing for twelve, and David and Andy are both self-taught musicians.
“The arrangements are bold and emphatic as well as imaginative. You get the feeling that Kelowna was actually a greenhouse for the development of the music, allowing the band to find its focus."
- The Province
Having shared stages with outfits including Mother Mother, Said The Whale, and Winter Gloves, We Are The City were recently selected as a finalist for the Peak Performance Project. As a best bet for CMW 2009 by The National Post, they’ve also been a featured artist with CBC Radio 3. Listening to their instrumentation and orchestral arrangements you will readily discover their potential for greatness is simply palpable.
"Extremely diligent blends of post-rock indie-pop bliss...Taking cues from foreigners like Sigur Rós and Múm, and blending them with organic Americana rock spirit (Wilco, the Shins) just might be the perfect combination to reinvent the wheel, and quite possibly the answer to this country’s stale revolving door of young talent."
- Clash Music

Said The Whale: Islands Disappear‏

After teasing fans with the release of an exclusive 7" featuring their first single ‘Camilo (The Magician)’ this May, Said The Whale are finally set to release their full length album Islands Disappear on October 13th via Hidden Pony/EMI. Produced by Howard Redekopp (Tegan and Sara, Mother Mother, The New Pornographers) and Tom Dobrzanski (Hey Ocean, Lotus Child), Islands Disappear takes from experiences of driving across Canada set to songs that are sometimes danceable, sometimes folk, and all times intelligent.

Following their summer tour which included a coveted spot at Parliament Hill on Canada Day playing to tens of thousands of people, a featured spot on CBC Radio 3, tons of radio play and adds, The Magician EP is selling out quickly. The anticipated release of Islands Disappear has brought Said The Whale more good fortune including making the finals for the XM Verge Awards 'Artist of the Year' for the second year in a row, an invite to play at the Edge 102.1 studio in Toronto, dates with the lovely Hannah Georgas, and a soon-to-be-released video that we promise is going to float your boat.
“If The Killers and Badly Drawn Boy were to have a love child, it'd be Said The Whale. Remember when "alternative" music used to be a real trendy word? Well, that really is the best way to describe this band...Said The Whale makes delightfully quirky music. It's infectious!”
- Perez Hilton

San Diego's IN FEAR AND FAITH is preparing to hit the road alongside In This Moment as part of the Revolver Magazine-sponsored “A Winter To Remember Tour” kicking off November 6 in Anaheim, California at Chain Reaction. The U.S. tour will hit 28 cities before winding down December 17 in Las Vegas.
is currently on tour supporting the band A Day To Remember. That tour runs through October 17 finishing off in Ocala, Florida.
IN FEAR AND FAITH, a sextet consisting of singers Cody Anderson and Scott Barnes, guitarists Ramin Niroomand and Noah Slifka, bassist Tyler Mcelhaney, and drummer Mehdi Niroomand, has been hard at work touring and making a name for itself since Day One. The band’s self-released EP has sold over 30,000 songs on iTunes and its current Rise Records release, Your World On Fire, has already sold over well over 15,000 copies since its release earlier this year.
The band’s non-stop touring over the past year includes runs with A Skylit Drive, Emarosa, Attack Attack!, and Sky Eats Airplane, helping to build a growing and dedicated fan base.
While playing in Tampa, Craig Owens of Chiodos happened to be at the show and was so impressed with the band’s stellar live show that he asked to do guest vocals on the band’s new release. So, Rise Records flew Craig to the studio and he laid down some amazing guest vocals on the track “The Road To Hell Is Paved With Good Intentions.” Craig will also appear in the band’s music video for the song.

Since making their out-of-town debut at Pop! Montreal in 2006, the buzz surrounding Rah Rah has been growing steadily. They were voted “Best Band in Regina” by a 2007 Prairie Dog’s Reader’s Poll, have played festivals across Canada, and released their first full-length album ‘Going Steady’ via Young Soul Records (Library Voices, Polymaths, National Frost) that quickly became a What’s Hot pick with itunes.

“Very accomplished despite their youth, Rah Rah plays immense, poetic rock tunes…” - Montreal Gazette
Now set to play dates across the country, this tour follows a hugely successful back-and-forth trip across Canada where Rah Rah played their hearts out at 34 back-to-back shows with a two week stop in Montreal to record tracks for their upcoming album with Kees Dekker of Plants and Animals fame. The now eight-piece features members of Sylvie, Geronimo, and the late Despistado. Since its release ‘Going Steady’ has received consistent air play on CBC Radio 3 (reaching #5 on the R3-30) and has charted on campus radio stations and in Exclaim! magazine.
“There's just something compelling about this band, whether it's Burns's earnest delivery (shades of a baritone Neil Young), the catchy tunes underpinned by rock solid musicianship, or the fact that one of their songs calls for a sound effect created by chewing candy into the microphone.”
- ChartAttack

The members of PENNYWISE have announced that Zoli Teglas, front man for OC hardcore/punk band IGNITE will be filling in on vocals during the band’s set on the 2009 Smokeout Festival at the San Manuel Amphitheatre in San Bernadino, CA October 24th, as they begin they're search for a new singer.
The two day Smokeout Festival will take place on October 23 and 24 and marks the seminal Hermosa Beach punk band’s first major show since Pennywise singer Jim Lindberg and the band parted ways last month after 19 years together.
Pennywise will be playing on a lineup that includes such acts as Slipknot, Deftones, Cypress Hill, Kottonmouth Kings, Bad Brains, Method Man/Red Man, a recently reunited Sublime (performing with their new singer, Rome) and many more.
As a former tour mate and a longtime friend and fan, Pennywise’s Fletcher Dragge says Teglas is a natural choice to help the band out during this transitional period. Dragge explains,
"As everybody knows, Jim has left the band and we're looking for a new singer. For the time being our friend Zoli has agreed to fill in for Jim for a couple shows to avoid having to cancel them while we look for a permanent replacement."
Teglas is looking forward to playing with Pennywise and their hometown So Cal fans adding,
“I'm stoked to be singing these upcoming shows with Pennywise. I'm a huge fan of the band and am super grateful to share the stage with my long time friends Fletcher, Byron, and Randy. “
