My latest obsessions...

Well, it's Friday, and I'm bored at work (as usual) so I thought I'd put together a list of some lesser-known bands you might like (aka that I like)... so check them out and enjoy! PS. I realized how to make links, it was extremely simple (as in clicking a button..oops) so just click on the artists name to visit their site!

Four Year Strong
Two singers, pop punk, sometimes remind me a bit of Fall Out Boy, at least the one guy's voice, but much better. As far as I can tell they have one album called Rise or Die Trying which they released in 2007.

Tickle Me Pink
I've mentioned this band before, but they are so good they deserve a second time. On their way to becoming the next Brand New, this indie/punk/rock band recently lost one of their founding members, the guitarist/bassist, but the band is still going strong. They have one album called Madeline that was released in 2008, it's available on iTunes.

Ninja Gun
An amazing rock/indie/country/punk band from Georgia, so many comparisons are on the tip of my tongue but for some reason my mind is coming up blank right now, so you'll just have to listen for yourself. Really good. Different. I think they only have two albums, a 2008 release called Restless Rubes and a 2004 cd titled Smooth Transitions. Check them out!

Straight up punk rock, a raspy voice like The Lawrence Arms or Choking Victim, they only have a couple songs on their myspace from the 2008 release On Parallel but they are definitely worth a listen anyway.

We The Kings
Extremely catchy pop rock band from the states that sound a lot like Motion City Soundtrack/The Academy Is... etc. They just released their self titled album this year.

The White Tie Affair
Sounds like a more mature, rockier Jonas Brothers or something like that, in a good way! Dancy, 80's infused, electronic, pop rock! Whoot whoot! Walk This Way is their only record, released in 2008.

Say No More
A rock/pop/indie band from LA, really fucking good, the singer has an amazing voice, sometimes reminds me of Dashboard Confessional... a lot of range, great writing, something a bit different from everything else you hear right now. They released What You Thought You Knew this year.

Just Surrender
I have been hooked on this band for the past month, listening to the few songs on their myspace over and over and over at work, I just can't get enough. Your Life and Mine is one of THE best songs I've heard in a while. Just your basic emo/pop/punk band, they have two albums under their belt... If These Streets Could Talk from 2005 and We're In Like Sin from 2007.

Danger Radio
Think Maroon 5 meet Justin Timberlake with a jazzy funky dancy punky twist of pure kick ass! Only one album out so far, Used and Abused, in 2008. I love these guys, so much fun. Check them out, please!

Just another punk band, not as poppy as the other ones but still catchy. has the best description of the band
Citing influences from the Beach Boys to Green Day, Farewell incorporated keyboards and layered vocals into the traditional rock penchant for dueling guitars over a rhythm section, a mixture that worked well for the band.
With 3 albums behind them, these guys are definitely something to check out.

I Set My Friends On Fire
This is for anybody who's sick as fuck of me talking about my dumb emo bands, haha don't worry I have something for you too... This band is fucked but I can't get enough. Experimental, hardcore, punk, rock, whatever... Similar to the Blood Brothers, they are all over the place and I fucking love it. There's growling. There's screaming. There's singing. There's even a Soulja Boy cover. The duo only have one album thus far titled You Can't Spell Slaughter Without Laughter...amazing.

Well, that's all I got for now!
Later boners.

I'm Sarah. I do what I want.
