Who Threatens a Reverend?

The racist, fascist British National Party is targeting the British organization Love Music Hate Racism. They have uttered threats to LMHR's coordinator Jon "The Reverend" McClure, and supporting musician Drew McConnell of Babyshambles and Helsinki. But Drew and the Rev are undaunted. Wanna show support for Love Music Hate Racism?

Maybe if you're gonna be in England you can catch a show.

Peter and the Wolf

Pete Doherty wants to scrap the recordings he's made for his solo project and start fresh. Newly released from HM Prison Wormwood Scrubs for violating his probation, Doherty told the press he wants to record the album in Portugal and Paris. He's already laid down a couple tracks, including "Darksome Sea," a tune written by his drug buddy--ahem, sorry, collaborator, Peter "Wolfman" Wolfe. Let's hope Pete scraps that song, and his vulture of a friend.

Will Carl Make Glasto?

YES! Collective sigh of relief. Carl Barat was hospitalized on June 20th and diagnosed with acute pancreatitis, which is inflammation of the pancreas. However he has been discharged and will be playing an acoustic set at Glasto this coming Sunday. The set is in support of RealFitz and Jail Guitar Doors.

Realfitz is an online periodical of essay and poetry. Carl's long-time girlfriend and London DJ Annalisa Astarita is the poetry editor of Real Fitz. Check it out at www.realfits.org.uk

Carl was criticized earlier this year when Dirty Pretty Things played a prison gig. What would Johnny Cash say to that...?

Farewell Shout Out to Angry Agency...

Another one of my favourite local bands bites the dust... Angry Agency was an amazing ska-punk band from London Ontario, who unfortunately just played their last ever show at Call the Office (London) on June 6th, 2008. They will be sorely missed!

Strike Anywhere, Hostage Life, Carpenter, This Is A Standoff - June 12, 2008 @ Kathedral

So, due to some double booking issues and a horribly timed promise to a friend, I will be missing Strike Anywhere yet again.
My life is ruined.
